An intelligent advisor for UK education and training careers. We map overseas qualifications, spot prior learning credits, and design a step-by-step plan personalised to your sector, goal and constraints.
Tap a category to expand it. Select all that apply — the advisor will use this to skip courses you don't need.
Selecting your country lets us map your qualification to UK level equivalents and identify which UK courses you may be able to skip via APL (Accreditation of Prior Learning).
This helps us match the right course to your industry. Pick the closest fit — many of our courses apply across sectors.
Pick the closest match — each option maps to a Bright Pathway course or pathway. Use "Something else" if nothing fits.

It depends on the country and qualification. Many degree-level overseas teaching qualifications (B.Ed, PGCE-equivalent) are recognised by UK ENIC (formerly NARIC) and can sometimes exempt you from the Level 3 AET.
However, most UK employers still expect a UK pedagogy qualification — and overseas assessor qualifications rarely exempt you from CAVA. Bright Pathway’s advisor covers the most common overseas teaching and assessor qualifications from 19 countries.
Yes. The Level 3 AET (teaching qualification) is not required to become an assessor. You only need an assessor qualification — typically the Level 3 CAVA, or Level 3 UPPA if you don't yet have workplace assessment access.
That said, many UK employers prefer both teaching and assessing qualifications, especially in further education colleges and corporate training settings.
APL is the formal process of getting credit for qualifications, experience or learning you already have — so you don't repeat content. Common APL scenarios in our pathways:
• Holding an older PTLLS exempts you from AET (they're the same qualification under different names)
• Holding CAVA exempts you from UPPA, AVRA and ACWE
• Overseas B.Ed qualifications may exempt you from AET when paired with a UK ENIC equivalence statement
The advisor uses a rules-based engine built on UK qualification frameworks (Ofqual, UK ENIC). Each recommendation comes with a confidence score.
For overseas qualifications specifically, we strongly recommend getting a formal UK ENIC statement (£49 — see enic.org.uk) before finalising your plan. Our team can advise on this — message us on WhatsApp.
Practical assessor qualifications (CAVA, AVRA, ACWE) require you to carry out and document real observed assessments on real learners. If you don't currently have access to learners you can assess, we recommend the Level 3 UPPA (knowledge-only) instead — you can upgrade to CAVA later when you have access.
Yes. Each Bright Pathway course is purchased separately, so you can stop, swap or add courses at any time. There's no commitment to the full pathway — start with the first course, see how you find it, and decide on the next step when you're ready.
Courses come with 12 months’ access (24 months for the Level 5 DiT and DiT bundles), so you can pause if life gets in the way.
Talk to our team if you want a human to confirm the plan first.
