Course Description
A common choice to become a qualified assessor is our Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment course. Under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), the course was formerly known as the A1 Assessor course but now the qualification has been succeeded by the TAQA (Training Assessment and Quality Assurance) suite of qualifications. This UK OFQUAL-accredited NVQ assessor course, covers assessment for a wide range of industry sectors such as nursing, cooking, and hospitality. Our course offers comprehensive assessment knowledge, irrespective of the learner’s background, and is entirely delivered online, facilitating proficiency in assessment techniques across various vocations.
Unit 1: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Unit 2: Assess occupational competence in the work environment
Written assignment including practical demonstration of assessment skills whereby individuals will be required to assess at least 2 learners enrolled on a competency based course. For individuals without a placement and access to learners for practical component, our Trainee Assessor Positioning program can be availed whereby we offer assistance for completion of practical assessment for learners.
The course offers self-paced modules. It can be completed within a week to over a 4 months duration. However, the course access expires after a year and a re-enrolment charge is applicable.

The Level 3 Assessor qualification requires learner assessments to be conducted in a real classroom setting, as simulation is not permitted.
To fulfil the unit 2 requirements, you need access to a minimum of two learners. It is not mandatory for your students to register with the awarding body.
