The Level 4 teaching qualification mandates that your teaching observations must be conducted in a real classroom setting. Simulation is not permitted, and observations must take place in a real teaching environment.
For the observations required in this course, you have two options. You can either find an expert witness/assessor who holds a level 5 Diploma in Education or an equivalent teaching degree, or you can record your session and submit the video for assessment by our qualified assessor.
Certainly, the Level 4 Train the Trainer course is suitable for both beginners and experienced trainers. All you need to do is fulfil the requisite 30 hours of teaching practice during your course.
To successfully complete the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training course, supervised by one of our authorised assessors, three teaching observations are required. Additionally, you need to log a total of thirty teaching hours.
Each teaching observation must have a minimum duration of sixty minutes. It’s important to ensure that lesson plans are also designed to last at least sixty minutes; if not, additional teaching observations will be necessary.
No, it is not advisable. To facilitate a learning curve and enhance the learning experience, it is recommended to distribute your observations throughout the duration of the course. This approach allows you to consider observer feedback and make improvements in subsequent training sessions.
Certainly, for the Level 4 CET qualification, a mix of both teaching methods is acceptable. However, it’s essential that at least one of the recorded hours come from group teaching, and all observations must not be based on 1:1 teaching. The required observations cover various aspects, including planning, delivery, assessment, differentiation, and other factors contributing to effective teaching and learning.
